The Ritual Movement Major Arcana writing collection

do you love writing and have something to share about a Major Arcana archetype?

We are seeking submissions for short pieces of writing, including poems, essays, personal stories, or fiction, that speak to the essence of a Major Arcana archetype. Some pieces will be chosen to set the stage of the associated dance, and be included in an anthology (like the one below!) at the end of the season. All others (who wish to be) will still be included in a community archive here.

The purpose of this project is to create a space to celebrate soul-centered writing and storytelling, deepen understanding of the Major Arcana by learning from each other, and encourage creativity—

the world needs your words!

Details

  • Up to 500 words

  • Please don’t include your name or contact information on the document itself

  • For submitters who don’t make it into the anthology and wish to share their work, Rae will include them in an ongoing archive on this website.

  • In order to reduce bias, these will be read blindly by the RM crew, who will choose one piece to be read out loud during opening circle of the associated dance. At the end of the season, this piece will also be included in an anthology designed and edited by Rae.

  • Submissions will align with the dance schedule. The submission window for each card opens the dance before, and closes the Friday before.

Open to all! Not limited to those who will be physically present at dance. If you aren’t there, we will read your piece for you, and you'll still be included in the final anthology.
